Skandamata is the mother of Lord Skanda:
Mother Skandamata's abode has been considered on the mountains. Lord Kartikeya is sitting on the lap of Mother Skandamata, riding on a lion, being the mother of Lord Skanda, she is worshiped by the name Skandamata. The goddess has four arms in which the lotus is adorned and one hand is in Varadamudra. Goddess Skandamata is considered the presiding deity of the solar system, that's why she appears as bright as the sun all around her. She is also known as Padmasana Devi.
Goddess Skanda Mata Pooja:
On the time of Skandamata Navratri, take a bath in the morning before sunrise and wear green clothes, and offer green bangles, green saree, mehndi, vermilion, roli, and akshat to the goddess. On this day, keeping a coconut in a green chunri, one goes to Nandgop Griha “Tatastau Nashayishyami Vindhyachalnivasini” chanting this mantra 108 times is auspicious. By doing this, it is believed that the empty lap becomes green soon, which means there are possibilities for child happiness.
Prasad is very dear to Maa Skandamata. It is a belief that the goddess gets health benefits and by offering bananas in worship, children are born. Offer bhog to the mother while reciting the Om Skandamatrai Namah mantra, the prayer will be accepted soon.

Goddess Skandamata also loves yellow flowers. By worshiping the Goddess, one also worships Lord Kartikeya himself. Skanda Dev i.e. Lord Kartikeya is considered the commander of the gods. Worshiping them gives the desired fruit to the fasting person. Use green color in the worship of Maa Skandamata. According to beliefs, this makes the goddess very happy and the life of the seeker is filled with energy. The green color gives the inspiration to do something new.
