Ganesh Chaturthi 2021: All You Need to Know About Rituals Performed During the 10-day Ganesh Festival

According to religious scriptures, Ganesh Chaturthi is considered the advent of Lord Ganesh. This day people pray and keep fast for pleasing the Almighty. According to astrological believes and studies, there are some rituals that, when followed will help to attain anything one wishes for. 1. The method of Abhishek or consecration is inscribed in scriptures. The person who follows this ritual is blessed with special sustenance. Lord Ganesha’s Abhishek must be done with holy water while reciting the Ganpati Atharvashirsha. Later on, mawa laddus must be offered to Ganesh and should be distributed among the devotees. 

2. Ganesh Yantra is miraculous beyond anything. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, this should be instituted in the house to bring happiness and prosperity. Because of its presence, no negative energy affects the house.  

3. If you are facing problems in your life, feed green fodder to elephants on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi or all of the 10 days as elephant represents the God himself. Pay a visit to the Ganesha temple to worship, by doing this all the hardship of your life could be banished.

4. If you wish for wealth and prosperity, offer jaggery and ghee to Lord Ganesh after bathing, then feed the same to cows after some time. If you practice this for 10 days, all your problems related to well-being will be resolved. 

5. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, after taking bath in the morning, visit the Ganesh Temple near your place. 21 jaggery offerings should be made in the temple. By doing this LordGanesh will help you to accomplish all your wishes for a prosperous life. 

6. On Ganesh Chaturthi, instill an idol of Lord Ganesh, preferably yellow in color, as yellow is considered an auspicious color for the occasion. During the ceremony offer 5 turmeric bales and chant the mantra ‘Shree Ganadhipataye Namah’ which is denoted as an offer of salutation to the higher authority and is equivalent to a bow in his presence. Offer 108 doob grass with turmeric sprinkled on it while chanting the mantra ‘Shree Gajvakatram Namo Namah’. If you practice this for 10 days, the chances of your promotion might increase.

7. Do charity, distribute clothes, food, fruits, etc. to the poor and needy. Also give Dakshina or some amount of money as charity, as it gives virtue and Lord Ganesh is pleased by this. 

8. Offer Malpua and fast on the day to please Lord Ganesh, if the daughters are not getting married. This can make the situations work in favor of marriage. 

9. Worship the idol made of doob grass on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. Present modak, jaggery, fruits, mava-sweets, etc. to God. This will help in fulfilling your aspirations.

10. If you offer Lord Ganesh sweets, preferably yellow ones, as yellow denotes the auspiciousness of the event, it will help in advancing the marriage-related issues for men. 

11. On Ganesh Chaturthi, chant Ganpati Atharvashirsha. Then offer sesame laddus to God. End your fast with these laddus and pray for happiness and prosperity.
