According to the time of Krishna Paksha of Sawan, the first Mangala Gauri fast will be on the 19th of July. This fast will start from Siddhi Yoga and will continue till Bhaum Pradosh. After this, the second fast will be on the auspicious day of 26th July i.e. Monthly Shivratri. After this, the third Gauri fast will be kept on the auspicious day of Nagpanchami on 2nd August. The fourth and final Mangala Gauri Vrat will be observed on August 9 on the day of Bhaum Pradosh.

To observe the fast of Mangala Gauri in the month of Sawan, women should take a bath early in the morning and take a vow of fasting. After this, to start the worship, decorate the post by laying a red cloth in a clean place. On which the idol or picture of Mother Parvati should be installed. After this, offer things like kumkum, perfume, rice, red flowers, incense, lamp, naivedya etc. to the idol or picture of the goddess. Along with this, 16 rings should be offered to the mother. Goddess Parvati did very severe penance to get Lord Shiva and after years of penance, the Lord attains her.
