According to the Hindu religious calendar, every year on the third day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, the fish incarnation of Lord Vishnu is celebrated as Matsya Jayanti. The religious importance of this festival is immense. It is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu took the first incarnation of a fish out of his 10 incarnations. Which was known as Matsya Avatar. This incarnation of Lord Vishnu took place at the end of the creation. Worshiping Sa-Vidhan Puja on this day gives the special blessings of Shri Hari.
Significance It is said in the Hindu scripture Narada Purana, that the demon Hayagriva (son of sage Kashyapa and Diti) snatched the Vedas from the mouth of Shri Brahma, Then Vishnu ji took the form of a giant fish and killed the unjust demon Hayagriva and got back the Vedas. From that day Shri Hari is worshiped with pomp. According to Hindu belief, taking a bath in the holy river on this day, worshiping according to the law, and doing charity, purifies the body and mind. The troubles that come in life go away. Along with this, listening and reading the story of Matsya Purana on Matsya Jayanti increases the age. And all sins come to an end.
Worship method:
Worship recitation has special importance in Matsya Jayanti. On this day the fish incarnation of Lord Vishnu is worshipped, and bathing in holy rivers is considered very important on this day. If this is not possible, then wake up early in the morning and take a bath by mixing Ganga water in water, after the bath fill pure water in a copper pot and offer half to the Sun God, and take a vow of fasting. Place a yellow-colored cloth on a clean post for worship and install the idol of Lord Vishnu on it. Wear yellow clothes very dear to God and offer flowers, fruits, and sweets by applying sandalwood tilak. Recite Vishnu Purana by lighting a lamp of pure ghee and then perform the aarti of Lord Vishnu.

Although there is a lot of benefit in worshiping the first fish incarnation of Lord Vishnu on Matsya Jayanti, there are a lot of benefits.
