Once upon a time, Mother Parvati was doing severe penance. Seeing his devotion and tenacity, the gods asked Shiva to fulfill the wishes of the mother. Then Shankar ji sent Saptarishis to test Parvati Ji.

The Saptarishis spoke a lot about Shankar Ji in front of the mother. Count their hundreds of demerits. But all these things had no effect on Parvati. He continued his penance with determination and determination. When all this did not work out, Lord Shankar himself decided to take the test.

Lord Shankar appeared and gave a boon to Mother Parvati. At the same time, the crocodile caught a boy near the pond where Mother Parvati was doing penance.
The boy was shouting to save him. As soon as the mother heard the boy's voice, she ran towards him. They saw the crocodile dragging the boy inside the pond.

Then the boy saw the mother and the boy said to the goddess - I have neither mother nor father, nor any friend... Mother, please protect me.

Parvati ji said - Oh dear! Leave this boy. Crocodile said- It is my rule to accept what I get in the sixth half of the day, considering it as my diet.
Brahmadev has sent this boy on the sixth of the day. why should I leave it?
Parvati ji begged - you leave it. Tell me what you want in return.
The crocodile said - I can leave it on one condition. The boon that you took from Mahadev by doing penance, if you give me the fruit of that penance, then I will leave it.
Parvati got ready. He said – I am ready to give you the fruits of my penance, but you leave this child.
Crocodile explained- Think Goddess, don't make a resolution by getting excited. The kind of penance that has been done for thousands of years is not possible even for the deities.
All his fruit will go in exchange for this child's life.
Parvati Ji said- My faith is firm. I give you the fruits of my penance. You give life to it.
The crocodile made Parvati Ji resolve to donate. As soon as the penance was donated, the crocodile's body started shining brightly.
But said - O Parvati, look, I have become brilliant due to the effect of penance. You wasted your life's capital for a child. If you want, I can give you one more chance to rectify my mistake.

Parvati Ji said - Oh dear! I can do penance again, but if you swallowed this boy, would he have got his life back?
Soon the boy disappeared. The crocodile disappeared.

Parvati Ji thought that I have donated my penance. Now I start penance again. Mother Parvati again resolved to do penance. Seeing this, Lord Shiva appeared again and asked what the goddess is doing now. Then the mother said that I have donated my penance, so now I will do penance again to get you in my husband's form.
When Mahadev said that it was me in the form of that child and crocodile. You have donated your penance to me only. I was just testing you whether your mind experiences happiness and sorrow in the living being or not. That's why you don't need to do penance again.
After knowing all this, the Goddess bowed down to Mahadev and left with a happy heart.
