9. Swamiji started the Shuddhi movement by inspiring people who had converted to religion to become Hindu again. Under the 'Shuddhi Movement' run by Dayanand Saraswati, those people who had accepted Islam or Christianity for some reason got an opportunity to re-convert to Hinduism. Even today, if any Christian or Muslim wants to return to the religion of his ancestors, then the doors of Arya Samaj are open for him where there is no casteism, polytheism, idol worship, etc. Perhaps that is why Annie Besant said that Swami Dayanand was the first person to say that 'India is for Indians'.
10. 'Arya' means Bhadra and 'Samaj' means assembly. Hence Arya Samaj means 'Society of Gentlemen' or 'Bhadra Sabha'.
