On Varuthini Ekadashi, rice, gramme, pulses, betel nut, betel, honey, and non-vegetarian cuisine are strictly prohibited.
On Varuthini Ekadashi, Vamana, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, is worshipped. Devotees do a particular puja on this day and adhere to certain regulations to make it more productive. On Varuthini Ekadashi, one should avoid sleeping, anger, gambling, applying oil to the body, and fostering any type of ill-will toward others. Wrongdoing and violence should be avoided at all costs.
