If someone is found infected with Kovid-19, then he should stay in isolation for at least 14 days. Even the lord of the universe (Lord Jagannath) self-isolates when he falls ill. Initially, when the rule of 14-day quarantine or self-isolation was made in the Corona epidemic, then people were also surprised. The question is why only 14 days? Later doctors and experts explained how it is necessary to break the cycle of infection in diseases spreading from person to person. For this the 14-day quarantine period was said to be important.

This rule of 14-day quarantine or segregation in infection is not new. Human beings… God was also quarantined for 14 days when he got infected. According to the beliefs of Hinduism, there is a mention of this separate abode regarding Lord Jagannath, Balarama and Goddess Subhadra. Bhaskar Mishra, researcher of Shree Jagannath culture also confirms this.
Quarantine means to restrict the movement of the infected so that the infection does not spread to others. God also followed these rules. This tradition is still followed in the Jagannath temple of Odisha. The Odisha government has also mentioned this tradition while appealing to the people to follow the Kovid rules.

Quarantine Room for Lord Jagannath
Segregation at home may be a new thing during the worldwide Kovid-19 pandemic, but this practice has been prevalent in the Lord Jagannath Temple here since ancient times. The Odisha government has referred to the religious tradition of Odisha to ask people to stay indoors and follow self-quarantine norms to check the spread of COVID-19, how Lord Jagannath self-quarantines before the annual Rath Yatra. That is, they are separated in a separate habitat room. This quarantine room is called Anasar Ghar.

"Gharre Rukantu Sustha Ruhantu"
Regarding Kovid-19, Odisha government's chief spokesperson Subroto Bagchi said, "The example of the isolated abode of Lord Jagannath is well accepted by the people and it is keeping them indoors. The state government has also coined a slogan - 'Ghare Rukuntu Sustha Ruhantu' which means stay at home, stay healthy.

He encouraged people to go into quarantine if they were found infected with Kovid-19 and said that Anasar (isolated habitat) is an important part of Odia culture and tradition. Quarantine is necessary to restrict the movement of the infected so that the infection does not spread to others.

Bagchi said, “The state government insists that if someone is found infected with Kovid-19, then he should stay in isolation for at least 14 days. Even the lord of the universe (Lord Jagannath) isolates himself when he falls ill."

 God also took Ayurvedic medicines
Bhaskar Mishra, researcher of Shree Jagannath culture said that the three gods take Ayurvedic medicines to get cured from the disease. Therefore, those who are suffering from any disease, instead of leaving them at the mercy of God, they should be given medicine for a speedy recovery.
Incidentally, on the occasion of Dashami Tithi, a 'Chaka BJ Niti' is being organized in the temple on Sunday to mark the improvement in the condition of the three deities. Sarat Mohanty, a sevak-cum-researcher of Jagannath culture and tradition, said that according to rituals, 'chakta' and 'pana bhog' are offered to the deities.

Medicine is also offered to God
Sharat Mohanty says that some rituals are performed by a few selected servants in a closed room during the stay of God in Anasar (Quarantine). A special oil called Phuluri oil is applied to the deities and 'Rajbaidya' prepares a special herbal medicine for their complete recovery. This medicine will be offered to God on Ekadashi date on Monday. Mohanty said that after this ritual, the deity is believed to be completely cured.
