Pradosh Vrat which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati is observed on both Trayodashi tithi of every month. Like Ekadashi, this fast is also observed twice a month. In the scriptures, this fast is said to be beneficial. It is such a belief about this fast that Pradosh Vrat is one of the special fasts to please Lord Shiva in Kali Yuga. This month Pradosh Vrat will fall on 05 August 2021 and 20 August 2021.
Along with this, while Sawan is considered to be a special month of Lord Shiva, this time Pradosh Vrat (Krishna) is observed on Thursday, 05th August and monthly Shivaratri is falling on the next day i.e. Friday, 06th August. In such a situation, special days are being formed for worshiping Lord Shiva for two consecutive days in the month of Sawan, dear to Lord Shiva.

The Pradosh fast of Sawan will be observed in August 2021 on Thursday, August 5. Regarding this fast, which is observed on the Trayodashi date of every month, it is believed that by observing this fast one gets the blessings of Lord Shiva. At the same time, due to being the favorite month of Lord Shiva, its importance increases even more in Sawan.
 
Pradosh Vrat Auspicious time: Shravan, Krishna Paksha:
 
Trayodashi Tithi starts from 05:09 PM on 5th August
Trayodashi date ends on 6th August till 06:28 PM
Pradosh Kaal - 07:09 PM to 09:16 PM
 
 
Guru Pradosh Puja Method:
 
-On this day of Pradosh in Sawan, one should get up in Brahma Muhurta and wear clean clothes after taking bath.
-After this, light the lamp in the temple of the house and if possible also take a vow of fasting.
-Along with this, anoint Lord Bholenath with Ganga water.
-After this, offer flowers to Lord Shankar.
-Worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha along with Shiva.
-After this, offer only satvik things to Lord Shiva.
-Apart from the aarti of Lord Shiva, meditate more and more on God throughout the day.
