According to the Panchag in Hinduism, Pradosh fast is observed every month on Trayodashi. This fast has special significance in Hinduism. Trayodashi comes twice every month. One Shukla and one Krishna Paksha. In such a situation, two Pradosha fasts are kept every month. It is said that at the time of Pradosh, Lord Shiva dances in the Rajat Bhawan of Mount Kailash and the deity praises his qualities.

According to the scriptures, it is believed that keeping Pradosha gets rid of all faults and troubles. Along with this, Lord Shiva always maintains his grace on his devotees. Goddess Parvati is also worshiped along with Lord Shiva on the day of Pradosh Vrat. It is believed that worshiping on this day in Pradosh Kaal brings happiness, wealth and good fortune.

When should one worship Pradosh Vrat?
Lord Shiva should be worshiped during the Pradosh period on the day of Pradosh Vrat. The time between 45 minutes before sunset and 45 minutes after sunset is called Pradosh Kaal. It is believed that worshiping Lord Shiva during the Pradosh period brings auspicious results in life.

Pradosh Vrat will be held in the month of May 2021
The first Pradosha fast will be observed on 08 May 2021. This day will be Saturn Pradosh fast due to it being a Saturday. After this, the second Pradosha fast of May will be kept on May 24. Due to it being a Monday on this day, it is Som Pradosh fast.

Pradosha fast rule -
Pradosh Vrat is kept clean without any reason, hence fruit fasting has special significance in this fast. Pradosh Vrat is observed throughout the day. Take a bath after regular work in the morning. Take a vow Then consume milk and observe fast throughout the day.
What not to do in Pradosha - In Pradosh period, you should eat food only after worshiping Lord Shiva. Food, salt, chilli etc. should not be consumed during Pradosh Vrat. Fruits are consumed only once during the fast.

What should be the ingredients in the puja plate?
At the time of Pradosh fast, the plate of worship should have Abir, Gulal, Chandan, Akshat, Phool, Dhatura, Bilvapatra, Janeu, Kalava, Deepak, Kapoor, Agarbatti and Fruit. All these are worshiped to Lord Shiva.
