May 9th of 1540 is the day when MaharanaPratap was born as per the Julian calendar and as per proleptic Gregorian calendar he was born on May 19th ,1540 but in india we follow the date given by Julian calendar. Maharanapratap is know as the greatest hindu ruler in the history of India, it is said that he ruled over Mewar a place in rajasthan and he was from the sisodiya clan(kulh). He leaned to fight from his mother who was from a warrior clan.

Maharanapratapis known for his last battle with akbar. Where he fought vigorously against akbar and his massive army of 85 thousand soldiers and on the other side his army of around 20 thousand soldiers. It is said that maharanapratap was not defeated nor did akbar won the war. At the end akbar wanted to subdue maharanapratap but he couldn’t. maharanapratap is a Rajput who never kneel to anyone except his mother and the god and he has become a great figure for the younger generation. The day of his birth as a day braver and courage, and many Rajput families worship maharanapratap on this day to give respect to him and to get inspired from him.
