Maha Saptami
The day of Mahasnaan Saptami is celebrated as Mahasaptami and on this day Mahasnaan has special significance. It is believed that on the day of Saptami, by placing a mirror in front of the idol of Goddess Durga, the image of Goddess Durga falling on it is bathed and this is called Mahasnaan.

Navpatrika Puja Vidhi
Navpatrika is worshiped on the day of Mahasaptami and the day begins with a holy bath of nine plants. These nine plants are invited to the river or pond as Maa Durga and are called Navapatrika. Nine types of leaves can also be used instead of plants. These leaves are tied with yellow thread to the twigs of white Aparajita plants. The nine forms of Maa Durga are represented by tying these leaves together. These are the nine plants and the representation of God:
Bael leaves - Lord Shiva
Ashoka leaves – Goddess Shokarahita
Rice Dhaan - Goddess Lakshmi
Banana plant - Goddess Brahmani
Arum plant - Goddess Chamunda
Turmeric plant - Goddess Durga
Pomegranate leaves - Goddess Raktadatik
Jayanti plant - Goddess Kartiki
Colocasia plant- Goddess Kalika
After the Mahasnaan, the Navapatrika is decorated in a white sari with a red border and the leaves are coated with vermilion. After this, it is installed on a decorated seat. Then it is worshiped with flowers, sandalwood paste, and incense sticks. Keep in mind that Navpatrika is placed on the right side of the idol of Lord Ganesha.
