Vastu Tips 2022: Bring these 5 things home to please Maa Lakshmi and Make Money
- January 14 (Makar Sankranti)
- January 17 (Paush Purnima)
- February 1 (Mauni Amavasya)
- February 5 (Basant Panchami)
- February 16 (Maghi Poornima)
- and March 1 (MahaShivratri)
On Paush Purnima, MaghSnan begins and ends with MahaShivratri. A temporary tent city emerges on the banks of the Sangam in Prayag during the MaghSnan era. Sangam is the confluence of the three sacred rivers of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. A holy bath at the confluence of these three rivers is thought to aid in the attainment of Moksha.
During this time, many Hindu religious organizations and ashrams set up separate camps and serve free food. During this time, Kalpavasis live in these camps. Thousands of worshippers flock to important bathing days during this time.
Paush Purnima, Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, Basant Panchmi, Magha Poornima, and Mahashivaratri are important bathing occasions during MaghSnan.
When the Kumbh Mela and ArdhKumbh Mela are held, MaghSnan is not held.
