Every year from Navratri to Dussehra, Ramlila is staged in different parts of the country to remember the end of Ravana and the festival of Ravana Dahan is celebrated on Dussehra, but Ramlila is staged in Bisrakh, a village in Noida, adjacent to Delhi. It is not done and neither is Ravan Dahan. There is a mythological belief behind this.
Local people say that whenever Ramlila is organized here or Ravana is burnt, then someone dies here. Because of this Ramlila always remains incomplete, so people stopped organizing Ramlila and Ravana Dahan forever.

Bisrakh village is also mentioned in Shiv Purana. According to the Puranas, Rishi Vishrava was born in this village in the Treta Yuga. He had established Shivling in this village. Ravana was born in the house of Rishi Vishwas. Ravana had also done penance of Lord Shiva in this village and was pleased with which God gave him the boon of being intelligent and mighty.
25 Shivling has been found so far
According to local residents, so far 25 Shivlings have been found in this village. He told that the depth of a Shivling is such that even after excavation, its end has not been found yet. Also, all these Shivlings are octagonal, which are not anywhere. There is also a temple of Ravana in Bisrakh village, which is also worshipped every day. Also, every auspicious work is started only after worshipping Ravana.

The people living here argue that Ravana kidnapped Mother Sita to save the demon race. Apart from this, Ravana is not said to be bad anywhere. Ravana took his Lanka from Lord Shiva by his political acumen. So it's believed to take ashes as a sign of increasing prosperity by removing negativity from people’s life and us.
