Yamlok snatched from Yamaraj
According to mythological beliefs, Lakhan, the stepson of Karni Mata, died after drowning in kolayat lake near Deshnok. Then Karni Mata went to Yamalok to revive her son. Yamraj donated life to Lakhan and told Karni Mata, 'From today, your descendants have no place in Yamalok. Then Karni Mata made her own yamalok. It is said that the descendants of Karni Mata become rats in this temple posthumously. While the rats present in the temple are the descendants of Karni Mata after death born as human beings.
You have to drag your feet
Rats roaming in the temple complex are called 'kaaba'. There are so many rats in this temple that you have to drag your feet. If a rat accidentally dies after being buried under your foot, you have to present a silver rat here. One of the rats here is a white rat, considered to be the form of Karni Mata. This rat gives darshan only to lucky people.
