Sawan Monday Fast Worship method

Those who observe fast on Sawan Monday, take a bath early in the morning and take a vow of fast remembering Lord Shiva. After that install the idol of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati and worship them. After that, Offer water and milk to Shivling on Monday. Write Lord Rama's name on 108 Bilvpatra(Bel leaves) and offer it to Lord Shiva. Offer Holy Ganga Water to Lord Shiva. One can also offer honey. Offer Sandalwood, flowers, Datura, colours, yellow cloth, etc. to Lord Shiva and light incense, lamps and incense sticks in front of them. Chant Om Namah Shivaya Mantra. Offer sixteen makeup items to Mother Parvati. It is believed that Ketaki flowers and Tulsi leaves should not be offered to Lord Shiva. At the end of the worship, recite Shiv Chalisa and Shiv Aarti.
