According to the Hindu calendar, Pradosh fast is observed twice every month. Trayodashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month can be observed on Saturday. This day is also known as Shani Pradosh Vrat. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshiped on the day of Pradosh fast. This fast is kept for children. Worshiping Lord Shiva and Shani on the day of Shani Pradosh fast is considered fruitful for newly married couples.

The Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start at 06:54 a.m. Trayodashi Tithi will end on the 19th of September, 2021 at 05:59 p.m. Worshiping in Pradosh while fasting, during the Pradosh period is considered auspicious. This time Pradosh Kaal is from 06:23 p.m. to 08:44 p.m. on 18th September. This Muhurta is most auspicious for the worship of Pradosh fast.
 
Method of Pradosh Vrat Puja
On the day of Pradosh fast, take bath early in the morning and take Sankalp in the name of God. On this day, one should worship Lord Bholenath according to the guidance of ancestors. During the Puja, Bholenath should be offered cannabis, datura, belpatra, sandalwood, flowers, etc. After offering all these things, Shivashtak or Shiv Chalisa should be read, and then the aarti should be performed accordingly.
Goddess Parvati along with Lord Shiva should be worshiped. The women who are married should offer things that symbolize the married life and womanhood. Many people keep fast on this day.

According to the beliefs, Pradosh fast is done to be blessed with a child. According to astrologers, people who do not have children are advised to keep the Pradosh fast.
