Adi Shankaracharya, who founded religion of Hinduism, was born in a Namboodari Brahmin family at a time span of about 1200 years ago, in a small village called Kalati, which was 5-6 miles away from Cochin. At present, only the Brahmins of this clan are Rawls of Badrinath Temple. Apart from this, only the Namboodri Brahmins sit on the throne of Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath. Adi Shankaracharya was a very talented child in his childhood. His father died a few years after his birth. It is believed that Guru Shankaracharya mastered vedas by memorizing the it at a very young age.

Story behind the birth of Adi Shankaracharya-
Many years after the marriage of the Brahmin couple, no child was born. The brahmin couple wanted to have children so in order to do so, the Brahmin couple worshiped Lord Shankar. Pleased him with his difficult austerity, so one day Lord Shankar appeared to him in his dream and asked him to ask for a boon.By listening to this , the Brahmin couple wished for such a child from Lord Shankar who also have a long life and also has his fame spread far and wide. but Lord Shiva said that either your child can have a long life or else omniscient. The long life that is there will not be omniscient and if you want an omniscient child, he will not have a long life. Then the Brahmin couple wished for an omniscient child instead of long life as a boon. After granting the boon, Lord Shiva himself was born as a child to the Brahmin couple. Due to boon, the Brahmin couple named their son as Shankar. Shankaracharya was a child full of talent since his childhood. His father died when he was just three years old which is a very young age. Although, he had acquired the knowledge of Malayalam language at the age of three.
Knowledge of Vedas at an early age-
At an early age, he had full knowledge of the Vedas and had studied the scriptures at the age of 12. At the age of 16, he had composed more than 100 texts. Later, on the orders of the mother, she had disinterestedness. At the age of just 32, he took samadhi in Kedarnath. Adi Shankaracharya established monasteries in the four corners of the country to propagate Hinduism, which is today called Shankaracharya Peeth.
