Today we have brought some beautiful couplets of Surdas which have a live depiction of Lord Krishna's pastimes.
Meaning: In this couplet, Sri Krishna complains to his mother Yashoda that his elder brother Balaram teases him a lot. He tells his mother that you have bought me for money, you have not given birth to me. So, I will not go to play with Balarama.
Balarama repeatedly asks Shri Krishna, who are your real parents? He tells me that Nand Baba and Maiya Yashoda are white but how am I black? He dances again and again. All the cowherds also laugh to hear this.
Mother! You only hit me, you never hit Dau (Balarama). You take an oath and tell me that I am your son. Mother Yashoda enjoys listening to all these things of Krishna.

Meaning: It is based on the Doha Raga Sarang. In this couplet, Surdas says that the land of Braj is blessed because Nanda's son Shri Krishna climbs his cows here and he plays the flute. By meditating on Manmohan i.e. Shri Krishna, the mind gets ultimate peace. Influencing the mind, Surdas Ji says, O mind! Where do you wander here and there? Staying in Braj, staying beyond practicality leads to happiness. Here neither you must take from anyone nor give it to anyone. All are getting meditated towards God. They ask their mind to remain in Braj.
Everyone gets happiness and peace here. Here everyone is composed in his tune. Nobody has anything to do with anyone. They say that by staying in Braj, they get some food from the leftover food in the utensils of the Brajwasis, & they get satisfaction. Kamdhenu cannot even equate Brajbhoomi.

The deaf person starts hearing everything, the dumb person starts speaking and the poor person becomes rich, Surdas says that I bow at the feet of the Lord again and again.

Meaning: In this couplet, Surdas says that some things are such that only the mind can understand. Just like if a sweet is fed to a dumb, he cannot describe its taste, but his mind can understand that feeling.
In the same way, there is no form, nor quality, of the formless Brahma God. The mind cannot be stable there. Only Surdas can understand the pleasure that he gets when he describes the child activities of Shri Krishna. They can only be felt & it gives him immense pleasure when he describes it.
