Goddess Kushmanda is worshiped on the fourth day of Navratri. There are only a few temples in this form of the goddess in the country. In which Kanpur, Varanasi and Kushmanda Devi temples of Uttarakhand are famous. Among them, the temple present in Varanasi is considered to be very old and its importance is also great. It is called Durga Mandir and the Kushmanda form of Goddess is worshiped in it. It is also mentioned in Devi Bhagwat Granth.

Temple built in Nagara style

This temple is built in the North Indian style of Indian architecture i.e. Nagara style. There is a square shaped pond in this temple. Which is known as Durga Kund. The shikhara of this temple is very high which is divided into four corners and each corner has a major shikhara and other minor shikharas. This building is red in colour. The clothes of the goddess in the temple are also ocher in colour. 
The temple built in Nagara style in the south rectangular courtyard of the kund has verandahs around it. On the left side of the western gate of the main temple decorated with mandapa in the middle are the temples of Ganapati and Bhadrakali and Chandbhairav on the south side. Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati are seated in the east-north angle. Apart from this, there are also idols of deities like Radhakrishna, Hanuman, Shiva etc.
