Today we will know why the full moon is important on 
Purnima and is the main fast observed every month. In this fasts married women worship Lord Vishnu, this fast is mainly kept to protect the children. It is considered very beneficial to have 32 full moon days. It is believed that a woman who observes a fast of 32 purnima,  Lord Vishnu fulfills all her wishes and give special blessings on her children.

The full moon is taking place from afternoon 12.44 pm on 27 April , this time the full moon is even more special because it will be on Hanuman Jayanti.
Chaitra purnima is also known as Poonam or Madhu Purnam. 

This fast has special significance in Hinduism.
According to mythological beliefs, Hanuman was born on this day, worshiping Lord Vishnu on the full moon day has special benefits.

Importance of Chaitra Purnima fast - It is believed that by bathing in holy rivers on this day, one gets freedom from all sins. 

At the same time, by making donations to the poor, one gets heaven and happiness and facilities are attained.

Chaitra Purnima is considered to be the first full moon of Nav Samvatsar. There is also a tradition of celebrating Hanuman Jayanti on the day. It is said that on this day Hanuman ji was born from the womb of mother Anjani. In such a situation, worshiping Lord Hanuman gives strength and courage.

Worshiping Lord Vishnu on this date also has special significance. In such a situation, if the native worships Satyanarayana Swami in a proper way, then the person gets special fruit and gets rid of all kinds of sufferings.

How to keep Chaitra Purnima fast -
  • First of all, wake up in the morning and take bath.
  • Then vow to fast.
  • After that take a bath in the holy river or kund.
  • Worship the Sun at the time of bathing and offer prayers to him while chanting his mantra.
  • After that one should worship Madhusudan and offer Naivedya to him.
  • Then donations should be given to the poor or needy.
