Buying iron on Saturday is prohibited in the scriptures. 
• Black sesame is considered very auspicious in the worship of Shani Dev. But black sesame should not be bought at home on Saturday.
• Oil should not be brought home even after forgetting on Saturday. Rather, on this day, offering oil to Lord Shani Dev should take his blessings.
• Buying a broom on Saturday and bringing it home is also not considered auspicious. It is believed that buying a broom on Saturday causes financial loss to the person.
• According to the scriptures, while worshiping Shani Dev, one should never look into his eyes, but oil should be offered while looking at his feet. Apart from this, the poor should never be harassed.
