This temple is about 12 km from Kolkata. It is located in distant Tanga city. This place is quite famous as China Town. By the way, the original name of this place is Tangra. Most of the Hakka Chinese families live here. They work as Chinese tanneries. There are 350 tanneries in this town, which are run by Chinese people only.
This temple is 60 years old :-
It is said that about 60 years ago there was no temple of Kali Maa here. It is believed that a devotee worshiped him by placing vermilion on two black stones under a tree. But 12 years ago a temple was constructed at this place and two statues of Maa Kali were installed there. The most interesting thing is that along with Bengalis, Chinese people also come here daily to pray.
What is the secret of the temple :-
It is said about this temple that the health of the 10-year-old son of a Chinese couple had become very bad. Even after trying a lot, the health was not getting better. No one could understand the reason for his illness. After that the boy's family started worshiping the Goddess located under the tree. After worshiping continuously, the boy's health improved. After which the Chinese people believed in the divine powers. After some time the Chinese people built temple there. Which was known from the Chinese Kali Maa Temple.
Devotees get Chinese Prasad :-
While laddus and Makhan-mishri are offered everywhere in India, Chinese food i.e. chowmin and momas are offered in this temple. Even though Chinese food is served in the temple, but Hindu rituals are followed in this temple. All the devotees take off their shoes and slippers outside the temple. Early morning aarti is performed here with great pomp. Flowers, sweets and prasad are offered to Maa Kali here daily.
