Today is the Guru Pradosh fast of Sawan. The Pradosh fast which falls on Thursday is called Guru Pradosh. The month of Sawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva. On the other hand, the special worship of Bholenath is also done during Pradosh fast. The importance of Guru Pradosh fast increases

Auspicious time of Pradosh fast
Trayodashi of Krishna Paksha of Sawan will start from 5:09 pm today. The date of Trayodashi will end on 6th August at 6.28 pm. Harshan Yoga is also being formed on the day of the Pradosh fast. This yoga is considered auspicious. In any Pradosh fast, Lord Shiva is worshipped starting 45 minutes before sunset and till 45 minutes after sunset.
Pradosh Vrat Puja Method
Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are worshipped in Pradosh fast. On the day of Guru Pradosh, take a bath and wear clean light yellow or pink clothes. Chant 108 names of Lord Vishnu by lighting a lamp of cow's ghee under a banana tree. Throughout the day, keep chanting the mantras of Lord Shiva Om Namah Shivaya and Narayan Narayan. In the evening, bathe Lord Shiva with Panchamrit during Pradosh Kaal. After this, after taking a bath with pure water, worship Roli Molly rice with an incense lamp. Offer whole rice pudding to Lord Shiva and yellow fruits and flowers to Lord Vishnu.
Significance of Guru Pradosh Vrat
Guru is considered to be a factor of knowledge and good fortune, due to which the predominance of Guru remains in all auspicious works. By observing Guru Pradosh Vrat, one gets the boon of happiness and good fortune. Guru's blessings increase good fortune in the marriage of girls. Sitting on a yellow pedestal facing east, chant the mantras of Jupiter with a turmeric garland. Donating yellow cloth, yellow sweets, gram lentils, turmeric, jaggery, etc. to needy people, problems of married life end.
