What is Shani Sade Sati:
Sade Sati means a period of 7 and a half years. It takes 30 years for Saturn to rotate in all the 12 signs i.e. Saturn stays in one zodiac for two and a half years. When Saturn's transit starts in the 12th house from the birth sign i.e. Moon sign in the horoscope, then from this time Sade Sati begins in life. Because Saturn stays in one sign for two and a half years, therefore it completes the 3 houses in a total time interval of 7.5 years, that is why this particular transit of Saturn is called Sade Sati. Apart from Sade Sati, when Saturn transits in the fourth house, the eighth house from the Moon in the birth sign i.e. in the birth chart, it is called Chhoti Sade Sati or Dhaiyya. It is said that in the first phase of Shani Sade Sati, Shani affects the financial condition of the person the most, family life in the second phase, and health in the third phase. Of these 3 phases of two and a half years, the second phase is the heaviest.
