Sawan 2021: Do not get disappointed if you are not able to keep fast in the month of Sawan, doing these Four things will also give equal virtue.
The month of Sawan is dedicated to Mahadev. During this month, devotees worship Lord Shiva and often observe a fast. On ‘Sawan ka somwar’ (Mondays falling in the month of Shravan), devotees observe a special fast and visit Shiva temples. But those who cannot keep fast can get the blessings of Mahadev by doing 4 scriptural works.
The four months of Shravan, Bhadrapada, Ashwin, and Kartik are called Chaturmas. These four months are considered very auspicious for religious rituals and worship, although auspicious works are prohibited during this time. Sawan is the first month of Chaturmas and this month is dedicated to the worship of Mahadev. Sawan has started from 25th July and this month will continue till 22nd August. During Sawan, the atmosphere all around becomes Shivamay.

All the devotees get the blessings of Mahadev by keeping a fast for the whole of Sawan, while some people keep fast on Monday of Sawan. According to astrologer Dr. Arvind Mishra, those who are not able to fast in the month of Sawan due to some reason, then there is no need to be disappointed. If they do some work according to scripture throughout the Sawan, then they will also get the blessings of Shiva.
