While lightning the lamp in the evening.

I pay my Namaskar (salutations) to the Supreme Brahman, who represents the Janardhana (Sri Vishnu). Let the light of Lamp remove my sins.
Benefits:
Light signifies knowledge. The tradition of lighting the lamp is done before the beginning of any auspicious ceremony so that we get complete knowledge, acceptance, and blessings from God, the Almighty. All auspicious programmes and occasions must begin with lighting the lamp.
Light removes darkness from one’s mind and life and illuminates it with knowledge. Therefore, everyone must cultivate the habit of chanting this shloka to pray to the light which is the Supreme Brahman and Janardhana to remove sins and bring prosperity, knowledge, good health, and positivity to life.
