The Shukla Paksha Tritiya Tithi of Vaishakha mas is celebrated as Akshay Tritiya. It is one of the most auspicious day in the Hindu religion and even celebrated across Nepal. It would initiate on
14-05-21 at 05:38 AM and end on 15-05-21 at 08:00 AM.
The word “Akshay” means never ending/indestructible and Tritiya is Jaya Tithi as per the Vedic Astrology that bestows “Victory”. So this day is equally important for earning never ending punya as well as gaining success in our actions. There are a large number of historical events related with day and they play a very important role in our lives.
It is believed that Ganga descended upon earth on this day likewise Maharishi Ved Vyas initiated the scripting of Mahabharat by Lord Ganesh on this day. It is also believed that it was on that day of Akshay Tritiya that Sudama went to meet Lord Shri Krishna at Dwarka and gained riches beyond measure. This day is also celebrated as Parshuram Jayanti ie the birthday of Lord Parshuram, sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
There are some important activities linked with this day that bestow happiness, wealth and prosperity. One of the most common activity done during this day is buying gold and silver ornaments/pendants. This day is very importantly dedicated to worshipping Lord Vishnu who is known to deliver his devotees out of problems.
The following activities should be undertaken on this day to gain blessings :-
- Worshipping Tulsi and Shaligram is very rewarding and it is known to ward off marriage related problems. Both Venus (Tulsi) and Mercury (Shaligram) gain strength.
- Reciting Shri Vishnu Sahastranaam is very rewarding and it bestows sound physical and mental health. It also deliver progeny and wealth.
- Installing and worshipping Shri Yantra and reciting ’Shri Kanak Dhara Stotra” is very rewarding in nature. It generates even cash flows and clears off debts. Marriage related problems also ward off.
- Performing Shraddha in favour of the Forefathers is very auspicious.
- Buying gold and silver ornaments/pendants is considered a precious investment.
- Making fresh additions to personal investment portfolio is also considered very auspicious.
- Donating food material like rice, sugar, salt, atta, clothing to the needy delivers Akshay punya.
- Tritiya tithi being ruled by Mars/Mangal should be worshipped by reciting “Rina Mochak Mangal Stotra”.
