Reason for celebrating the Pola festival
According to mythology, when Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Krishna, he was born on the day of Janmashtami. When Kansa came to know about this, he sent many demons to kill Kanha. One of these demons was Polasura. Kanha had killed the demon Polasura with his bravery. Pola Sur was killed by Kanha on the new moon day of Bhadrapada. For this reason, this day came to be called Pola. For this reason, this day is called Children's Day.

On the day of Bhado Amavasya, a day of the Pola festival, bulls and cows are not tied and they are freed. They are decorated and beautified. They are garlanded with beautiful bells. Animals are worshipped and this day is celebrated by paying respect to nature.
