Bhai Dooj 2022: Know the importance , shubh muhurat and auspicious time

The festival of Bhaiya Dooj is celebrated on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.  Bhai Dooj is also known as Yama Dwitiya.  This festival is celebrated like Rakshabandhan.  In this, sisters do tilak for the well being of their brother and wish for their happiness and prosperity.  There is some confusion regarding the date of Bhai Dooj this year.  Some are talking about celebrating Bhai Dooj on 26 October and some are talking about celebrating it on 27 October.

Bhaiya Dooj auspicious worship time 
This year, the second date of Kartik Krishna Paksha is falling on both 26 and 27 October.  This is the reason why people are getting confused.  Dwitiya Tithi will start from 02:43 PM on 26 October and will continue till 12:45 PM on 27 October.  In such a situation, on October 26, the festival of Bhai Dooj will have to be celebrated according to the scriptures.  On this day, the auspicious time for applying tilak for brother will be from 12:14 pm to 12:47 pm.

This is the auspicious time of worship on 27th October because in many places the festival of Bhai Dooj is celebrated according to the date of rise.  In such a situation, Bhai Dooj can also be celebrated on 27 October.  On this day, the auspicious time of Tilak will be from 11:07 am to 12:46 pm.

In the worship material of Bhaiya Dooj, items like kumkum, betel leaf, betel nut, flowers, kalava, sweets, dry coconut and intact etc. are kept.  It is very auspicious to keep these things in the plate of worship while doing tilak to brother.

Bhai Dooj Story Significance According to mythological beliefs, Suryadev and his wife Sangya had two children, Yama and Yamuna.  There was a lot of love between the two.  Yamuna sister always wanted Yamraj to come to her house for food.  But Yamraj could not go to him due to busyness and used to postpone his request.  Once, on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month, Yamraj reached his house in the afternoon.  Yamuna was very happy to see her brother at the door of the house.  After this Yamuna offered food to her brother ,Yamraj .  Seeing her sister's affection, Yamdev asked her to ask for a boon.

On this, he asked Yamraj for a promise that he should come every year to have food on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.  Also, like me, the sister who treats her brother with respect and hospitality on this day should not be afraid of Yamraj.  Then Yamraj gave this boon to his sister and said that from now on it will be the same.  Since then this tradition is going on.  That is why Yamraj and Yamuna are worshiped on the day of Bhaiya Dooj.
