In our Hindu religion and in their mythology, Lord Surya Dev is considered to be a direct Brahman or visible deity. Lord Surya Dev is considered an important deity in our Hindu religion and Lord Surya Dev is worshiped daily or on Shukla Paksha Saptami (the seventh day during the waxing phase of the moon in the traditional lunar calendar). Lord Surya Dev is called by many names and Bhanu is one of those names by which Surya Dev is called.
In our Hindu religion, Bhanu Saptami is celebrated by various Hindu communities. Bhanu Saptami is celebrated in Magha month (January-February), Phalgun month (February-March), Jyeshtha month (June-July), Kartik month (November-December), and Margashirsha month (December-January).
Main Bhanu Saptami is celebrated in the month of Magha and when Bhanu Saptami is celebrated in the month of Magha it is known as Magha Saptami or Ratha Saptami. When Bhanu Saptami is celebrated in the month of Jyeshtha, it is organized only in certain areas. If Saptami Tithi falls on any Sunday, then that day is celebrated as Bhanu Saptami.
All the devotees should keep this thing in mind that Bhanu Saptami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Surya Dev, so celebrate it in the full traditional way because on this day Lord Surya Dev made his presence for the first time.
Bhanu Saptami is also known as Vivasvat Saptami. On this day all the temples are specially decorated and special prayers and rituals take place on this day.

What should we all do on the day of Bhanu Saptami?
On this day all of us should offer water to the Sun God and along with that should also chant Gayatri Mantra. On this day all of us should keep water in a pot and mix red flowers, black sesame seeds, jaggery, and rice in that water.
While offering water to all of us, we should always offer water by looking towards the east. Even if you cannot see the sun, look east and perform the rituals with full devotion.
All the devotees should wear red-colored clothes while worshiping the Sun God in the morning.
