Why is Chhoti Diwali called Narak Chaturdashi? On this day Lord Shri Krishna killed the demon named Narakasura and since then it has been known as Naraka Chaturdashi. Along with this, the fear of untimely death also ends. In some places, there is a tradition of applying oil before taking a bath.
