According to the Hindu calendar, Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated every year on the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year the festival of Krishna Janmashtami is on 18th August 2022, the day Thursday. Janmashtami is celebrated with great pomp all over the country.

On this day the devotees of Lord Krishna are absorbed in the devotion of Kanha. Shri Krishna devotees observe fast on the day of Janmashtami. Worship Shri Krishna. Devotees of Shri Krishna keep a fast on this day and this fast is considered to be free from all sufferings and fulfilment of wishes. It is believed that only by doing Sadhana and Sumiran with a sincere heart, Lord Shri Krishna comes running to save his devotees. Let us know how to make Janmashtami fast successful

Don't forget to do this work on Janmashtami:-

All the devotees keep fast on the day of Krishna Janmashtami. When you fast, keep in mind that do not eat rice on that day.

Do not offer withered flowers to Kanha on the day of Janmashtami. Offer flowers in bloom to Kanha at any time. If possible, offer lotus flowers to Kanha. Because Kanha is believed to be an incarnation of Narayan, and Narayan is seated on a lotus flower.

Shri Krishna had a great love for animals. The cow was the most loved among the animals. So he went on the festival of Janmashtami even after forgetting that his calf should not be killed or harassed. If you do this then your fast will not be successful.

On the day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, no one should be disrespected or insulted even by forgetting. It is believed that if you harass a poor miser, insult him, then Shri Krishna may become angry and may also have to bear his wrath.

 Those who observe Janmashtami fast should not consume tamasic things even by forgetting.
On the day of Krishna Janmashtami, garlic, and onion should not be consumed in the food. On this day, even after forgetting meat and alcohol should not be consumed.

Neither tulsi leaves should be plucked nor any tree or plant should be cut on Janmashtami. Also, keep in mind that Tulsi Dal should be broken a day before for the worship of Janmashtami.

Do this work on Shri Krishna Janmashtami:-

While worshipping on Janmashtami, make sure to use a conch shell and bathe your Laddu Gopal through this. Kanha becomes very happy doing this.

If possible on the day of Janmashtami, worship Krishna throughout the day. If you are not able to do it for the whole day, then do bhajan of Krishna during the evening worship
Offer Tulsi to Laddu Gopal on the day of Janmashtami. Make delicious food and offer them in bhog.

While worshipping Krishna on the holy festival of Janmashtami, offer him his favourite things like peacock feathers, kheer made from cow's milk, panchamrit, sweets, butter etc.
