Why Tilak is applied on the forehead, know the rules related to it

 There is great importance of applying Tilak after worshiping in Sanatan Dharma.  Tilak is used in different forms for each deity.  Tilak of yellow sandalwood is applied in the worship of Lord Vishnu and Tilak of ashes is applied in the worship of Lord Mahadev.  The sandalwood with which the deities are decorated in the worship recitation, we apply Tilak later as Prasad.  Know in more detail about the religious significance associated with Tilak.

 Tilak is applied on the forehead considering it as a blessing of God.  Every day after waking up in the morning and taking a bath, sitting at the place of worship of the house, facing the north direction, Tilak should be applied between the two eyebrows.  And there is a right way to apply Tilak.  Tilak should never be applied with ring finger or middle finger or thumb.

 Apply Tilak according to the day

 monday

 Monday is dedicated to Mahadev.  Along with Mahadev, Chandra Dev is also worshiped on this day.  White sandalwood tilak should be applied on this day.

 Tuesday

 Tuesday is dedicated to Maruti Nandan Hanuman ji.  Red sandalwood vermilion should be applied on this day.

 Wednesday

 To get the blessings of the first revered Lord Shri Ganesh ji, vermilion tilak should be applied.

 Thursday

 Thursday is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.  Yellow sandalwood or saffron tilak should be applied on this day to get the blessings of Lord Vishnu.

Friday

 Roli, red sandalwood tilak should be applied on Friday to get the blessings of Goddess Durga.

 Saturday

 Saturday is dedicated to Shani Dev.  On this day, to get the blessings of Shani Dev, apply Bhasma Tilak.

 sunday

 Sun God is worshiped on Sunday.  To get their blessings on this day, tilak of red sandalwood or roli should be applied.
