Hartalika Teej, which is celebrated a few days after Hariyali Teej and Kajari Teej, is celebrated on the third day of Shukla Paksha i.e. Tritiya Tithi. According to the Hindu calendar, this time Hartalika Teej is falling on Tuesday. Tritiya Tithi will start from 15:20 PM on 29th August and will continue till 15:33 PM on 30th August.. Apart from this, the time of worship will be from 6:33 pm to 8:51 pm. This time the Muhurta of Hartalika Pratham Puja will start from 5:58 am and will continue till 8:31 am on August 30.

Story and worship rules
According to mythology, it was believed that Goddess Parvati's father wanted her to marry Lord Vishnu, but she wanted to marry Lord Shiva and hence the goddess took her friend to kidnap her and take her to a dense forest. So that she avoids marriage and tries to get Shiva. During her stay in the forest, she worshiped Lord Shiva and seeing her devotion, Lord Shiva married her. This is the reason why it is believed that worshiping Lord Shiva on this day brings marital happiness.

On this day women wear new clothes and dress up like brides.They worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati by making small clay idols and do penance. The fast starts early in the morning and ends the next morning after the puja. Married women gather in the temple for Hartalika Puja, where they worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with devotion.
