There are many changes behind them; one of these festivals is Holi, the festival of the victory of good over evil. This festival is celebrated in the memory of the great devotee Prahlad. When Prahlad was tortured by his father, Hiranyakashyap, his devotion did not diminish.
He keeps chanting the name of Lord Vishnu. Seeing this devotional spirit in his devotee, Lord Vishnu assumed the form of Narasimha and killed Hiranyakashyap at both the times of Holika Dahan, i.e., neither day nor night, when both the sun and darkness meet. Prahlad was saved.

Holi storyTo protect his devotee Prahlad, Lord Vishnu burned Holika in the fire and saved the devotee. Holika was the sister of Hiranyakashyap, who sat in the fire with Prahlad in her lap. Holika had a boon: she would not burn in the fire. For this reason, Hiranyakashyap urged Holika to sit in the fire with Prahlad in her lap. But this boon could not be proved, and Holika's boon failed at the last moment, and the fire burned her to ashes while Prahlad survived. Lord Shri Vishnu killed Hiranyakashyap by taking the form of Narasimha at his own residence. All these incidents happened at the time of Holashtak. That's why Holashtak is considered auspicious.

The time from Ashtami of Phalgun month to Holi is considered Holashtak. This time, Holashtak is starting on February 27 and will remain until March 7. No auspicious work is done during this time. However, if you chant the Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya mantra more and more at this time, then it will be auspicious for you. The festival of Holi is the festival of the victory of good over evil. This festival gives us the message of ending all evil and awakening goodness. All the evils get burned in the fire of Holika Dahan, and the next day, a colourful festival, i.e., the Holi festival, is played in the form of colours.
