This time Janmashtami is going to be very important. According to the calendar, Shri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. It is believed that observing fast on Janmashtami brings blessings of Lord Krishna. Lord Shri Krishna was born on the Ashtami date of Bhadrapada, hence it is called Krishna Janmashtami. According to the calendar, this year this date will start on Wednesday, September 6 at 15:37 pm and will end on September 7 at 16:14 pm.

According to religious texts, Shri Krishna was born at night in Rohini Nakshatra. That's why this year Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on 6th September. On this day, Rohini Nakshan will start at 9:20 am, which will end the next day on 7th September at 10:25 am. Let us tell you that usually the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated for two days. Householders will celebrate Krishna Janmashtami on the 6th of September and the Vaishnav community on the 7th of September.
