According to Shrimad Bhagwat Purana, Shri Krishna was born on Ashtami Tithi, Rohini Nakshatra, Taurus sign and Wednesday. Janmashtami time of birth of the god
The festival of Janmashtami is celebrated with devotion. On this day devotees keep fast and worship Lord Krishna. Everyone's wishes are fulfilled by the grace of Bal Gopal Lord Krishna. This year Ashtami date is starting from 07.58 pm on 6th September and will end on the next day on 07th September at 07.52 pm. Lord Shri Krishna was born in the middle of the night. That's why Janmashtami will be celebrated on 6th September. The auspicious time for worship is going to be from 09.54 to 11.49.

You can chant the Kri Krishnaya Namah mantra for Janmashtami Puja. The mantra to invoke Lord Krishna is given below.
Anadimadya Purushottam Shri Krishnachandra Nijabhaktavatsalam.
Swayam Tvasankhyanadpati Paratparam Radhapati Tvam Sharanam Vrajamyham.

Krishna Janmashtami worship method
On this day it is necessary to offer Panchamrit to Laddu Gopal. In the puja, first of all, keep the idol of Child Krishna in a vessel and bathe it with pure water and milk, curd, honey, panchmeva and fragrant Ganga water. Then it should be placed in the cradle and clothes should be worn. After this, aarti should be performed according to the law of God. Along with Naivedya i.e. fruits and sweets, they should include coriander, flour, rice or Panch Panjiri as per their tradition, and butter and sugar candy should be included in the offering to God. After the Panchamrit bath, Shodashopachar puja is performed. This puja is specially organized in temples to celebrate the birth anniversary of Shri Krishna. After this, God is praised collectively while staying awake at night. Whose fruit is fully received by the devotees.
