Kalki Jayanti marks the time of Kalki Avatar of Lord Vishnu. Kalki incarnation of Lord Shri Vishnu is associated with the time of incarnation of Kaliyuga.
According to the beliefs, Lord Vishnu will once again incarnate in Kaliyuga to destroy the sinners and for the establishment of religion, and by establishing religion, Sat Yuga will begin. This festival is celebrated because Lord Kalki will be born in Kali Yuga to eradicate the evils from the world and to change the cycle of time into Satya Yuga.Kali Yuga, in Hinduism, is a Yuga cycle which is the fourth and most destructive of the four Yugas. Hence it is believed that the incarnation of Lord Mahavishnu will be to destroy Kali, the male demon and save Dharma. According to the traditional Hindu calendar, Lord Kalki Jayanti falls on the sixth of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month.
Kalki Jayanti Puja Rituals
Devotees are very excited to celebrate this Kalki incarnation of Lord Shri Vishnu. During this auspicious day, devotees wake up early in the morning, take a bath before sunrise, observe a fast and recite the holy Vishnu Stotram, worshiping the Lord in a temple or at home. People at home recite Narayan Mantra and other mantras 108 times methodically and start Kalki Jayanti Puja with Beej Mantra.The idol of the Lord is spiritually bathed with Panchamrit and water, and then worshiped with flowers, incense and lamps. Bhagavad Katha is organized on the occasion of Kalki Jayanti. Reciting Ramayana on this day gives auspicious results. On this auspicious day of Lord Vishnu, devotees distribute clothes and food to the needy. ,

Hindu scriptures state that Lord Kalki would be born in Shambala village to a devoted Brahmin named Vishnuyasha.The Lord will also appear on a majestic white horse named Devadatta, holding a sword in his hand with which he will slay all the hateful and treacherous kings on earth. Kalki would also represent the eight supreme qualities of the Lord, and would be His most essential principle which would be to free the world from sins.In the Srimad Bhagavatam, Kalki is recognized as the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who will appear to end the present phase of Kali Yuga and bring back the Satya Yuga. Devotees worship Lord Vishnu and pray for his blessings and they also ask for forgiveness for all their bad deeds or sins.Devotees also pray for a peaceful life and get blessings.
