Religious importance of Kartik Purnima
This year Kartik Purnima is going to be celebrated on Monday in the month of November. A day before this day, Dev will be celebrated as Diwali. The full moon date of Kartik month has special significance in the Hindu religion. In the Puranas, all Kartik months are considered suitable for storing spiritual and physical energy. It is believed that Lord Vishnu and Lord Shankar should be worshipped on the day of Kartik Purnima.

According to religious beliefs, Lord Shankar had killed the demon named Tripurasura on the full moon day of Kartik month. After this, the Gods and Goddesses were very pleased and Lord Vishnu named Lord Shankar Tripurari which is one of the many names of Lord Shankar and this form is especially worshipped on this day.

Kartik Purnima's mythological significance
According to a legend, Lord Shiva took the incarnation of Tripurari and killed three demon brothers named Tripurasura on this day. This is the reason why this Purnima also has the name Tripuri Purnima. In this way, Lord Shiva removed atrocities and established peace. Therefore, the gods celebrated Diwali on this day to celebrate the victory of Lord Shiva over the demons. To celebrate Vijaya on the day of Kartik Purnima, devotees celebrate Dev Diwali by lighting lamps in holy religious places and decorating their homes.
