Kedarnath Dham Jyotirlinga Devbhoomi is located in Uttarakhand. Every year, lakhs of devotees come here to have darshan of Mahadev and get mesmerised by the supernatural of this place. The history of Kedarnath Dham Jyotirlinga dates back to ancient times. This abode of Baba Kedarnath is also counted among the twelve Jyotirlingas. The specialty of this Dham is that here the doors of the temple remain open for six months of the year, and the rest of the time these doors remain closed for the devotees. Lakhs of devotees from India and abroad come here to visit this Dham. Together, they get mesmerised by the supernatural nature of this place. It is believed that Baba Badrinath can be visited only after visiting Kedarnath, and it has also been told in religious texts that here Baba is along with Kedarnath. By seeing Nar-Narayan, all the sins are washed away, and finally salvation is attained.

According to legend, after the Mahabharata War, the Pandavas were accused of killing their brothers and relatives, and then Lord Krishna suggested they seek forgiveness from Lord Shiva. But Shiva did not want to forgive the Pandavas. That's why, in order not to be seen by the five, he took the form of a bull, i.e., Nandi, and hid among the cattle present in the mountains. But Gadadhari Bhim recognised him as soon as he saw him, and this difference of Shiv ji came in front of everyone. But when Bholenath tried to go to some other place from there too, Bhima stopped him, and Shivji had to forgive him.
The place where the Pandavas met Shankar is known as Gupta Kashi. But after some time, Bholenath disappeared from Guptkashi as well and appeared in five proven forms. He is in five forms: Kedarnath has the hips; Rudranath has the face; Tungnath has the hands; and Madhyamaheshwar has the stomach. Mahadev's locks are present in Kalpeshwar; these five proven places are also known as Panch Kedar.

Important things related to the templeThis grand temple of Lord Shiva is situated on the ghats of the Mandakini River. Bholenath is seen in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The Shivling established here is self-manifested, due to which the importance of this place increases even more. It is said in the scriptures that the first temple in Kedarnath Dham was built by the five Pandavas. But with time, it disappeared. Then Adiguru Shankaracharya ji got this temple rebuilt. The special thing about this is that his tomb is also present behind this temple.
