There are mythological stories about Kharmas in Hinduism, according to which when Surya Dev was touring the universe sitting on his chariot of seven horses, he did not have to stop anywhere. If the Sun God had stopped somewhere during the tour of the universe, then the life of the whole universe would have stopped. The horses started feeling tired due to continuous walking; along with this, they also felt thirsty. So, Surya Dev took his chariot and horses to a pond. There he saw two donkeys, on which he set his chariot and left his horses to rest. There is also a belief that when both the donkeys were driven together in the chariot, the speed of the chariot became very slow. During this one-month cycle, Suryadev's horses got ready again after taking rest and drinking water. Then, after a month, Surya Dev put horses in his chariot. In Hinduism, this month is known as Kharmas.
