Hanuman ji gave the dream to the merchant
According to a story, hundreds of years ago a wealthy merchant was carrying the statue of Hanuman ji. When the merchant's boat reached the banks of the Sangam beach, suddenly the statue of Hanuman ji was released from his hand. Then Hanuman ji came to him in a dream and said that he wants to live on the banks of the Sangam coast. As Hanuman ji instructed that merchant, he did it.

Hanuman ji located in the confluence of Prayagraj is also known by many names. For example, they are called Bade Hanuman ji, Fort Wale Hanuman ji, Lay Hanuman ji and Dam Wale Hanuman ji. It is believed that the water of Ganga rises above to touch Hanuman ji and after touching it again comes to its place. Maa Ganga does this every day to get the blessings of Hanuman ji.

Akbar had also accepted defeat.
According to histories and mythology, in 1582, when Akbar was busy expanding his empire, he also came to Prayagraj. Akbar built a fort here to quell the revolt going on in eastern India including Magadha, Awadh, Bengal. Where Akbar tried to take the lying idol of Hanuman ji. But the idol of Hanuman ji did not even move from its place. It is said that after this incident, Hanuman ji came in Akbar's dream. After this, Akbar stopped this work and accepted his defeat from Hanuman ji.
