Navratri 2022: Know the benifits of worshipping Maa Katyayani

 After worshiping Goddess Skandamata on the fifth day of Navratri, the devotees worship Maa Katyayani on the next day.  Maa Katyayani is worshiped on the sixth day of Navratri.  According to Hindu beliefs, Goddess Katyayani represents the sixth form of Goddess Durga.  It is believed that Goddess Parvati came in the form of Katyayani to kill the demon Mahishasura.  This form of Goddess Parvati is said to be the most violent harsh form.  Goddess Katyayani ji is also recognized as a warrior goddess.

Devi Katyayani

 Among the nine planets in the form of Goddess Katyayani, Jupiter is believed to be related to Mother Katyayani.  On the sixth day of Navratri, devotees worship Goddess Katyayani and listen and read her story.  Maa Katyayani rides on a lion and is depicted as having four, ten or eighteen hands.  She is seen in Abhayamudra.  Navratri is considered one of the most important and widely popular festivals dedicated to the worship of nine different forms of Goddess Durga.  In these days, different forms of Maa Durga are celebrated and worshiped.

 Worshiping the Goddess gets success 

Various forms of Goddess are worshiped for nine days.  Each day of this 9-day long festival has a different significance.  Goddess Maa Katyayani is said to be another special incarnation of Goddess Durga and worshiping her on the day of Navratri leads to victory.  It is believed that during these days of Navratri, the goddess comes to earth and blesses her devotees to be fearless and gives them strength in every way.  The names of nine different incarnations of Maa Durga are Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Maa Katyayani, Maa Katyayani, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri.
