One of the famous religious places of Bihar is Maa Thave Wali Bhavani's Thave Temple. The temple of Mata Thavewali is located in Thawe of Gopalganj district of Bihar state. Devotees call Maa Thavewali by the names of Simhasini Bhavani, Thave Bhavani and Rashu Bhavani. One of the 52 Shaktipeeths of the country, the Thave temple of Maa Thave Wali Bhavani is surrounded by forests on three sides. It is believed about Thave Bhavani Maa that the mother had come here from Kamakhya in Assam on the call of her supreme devotee Rashu.

It is said that she walked from Kamakhya and sat in Kolkata in the form of Goddess Kali at Dakshineswar. Then she reached Thave via mother Patan Devi in Patna and Ami Devi in Chhapra.

The shade of the temple is unique in Navratri

Maa Bhavani had reached here on the call of her supreme devotee Rahashu. The mother had given a glimpse of Rashu by tearing his head here. Raja Manan Singh was arrogant

There is a devotional story behind why Maa Thave Bhavani is known as Rashu Bhavani.According to mythology, Raja Manan Singh was the king of Hathua. He considered himself the biggest devotee of Maa Durga. He was proud that he is the biggest devotee of Maa Durga. Once there was a famine in the kingdom of Raja Manan Singh. People started getting fascinated by grain.

Mata arrived from Kamakhya on the call of Rahashu

At the same place, a true devotee of Kamakhya Devi Maa lived in Thave, Rashu. Rashu used to cut grass during the day by the grace of mother and food would come out from it at night. He used to distribute that food among the people.
The king could not believe this miracle. Describing Rashu as a hypocrite, the king asked to call his mother. Rahashu prayed to the king many times that if the mother comes here, the kingdom will be ruined.

Devotees also visit Rahashu temple

The arrogant king did not agree. On Rahashu's prayer, the mother reached there via Kolkata, Patna and Aami and gave a glimpse of Rahashu dividing his head. After which all the buildings of the king fell and the king got salvation.

There is a grand temple where the mother had given darshan. There is also a temple of Rashu who was the biggest devotee of the mother at a distance of her. It is believed that those who come to see the mother definitely go to the temple of the devotee of Rashu. Only then his worship is considered complete.

The temple of Mata Thavewali is located in Thawe of Gopalganj district of Bihar state. It is situated just 6 km away from Gopalganj district on the Gopalganj-Siwan National Highway.
