First of all, it should be kept in mind that the person performing Shraddha should not eat food prepared from outside. That person should eat only satvik food for sixteen days until this period ends. From a religious point of view, outside food is considered impure. Let us tell you that Pitru Paksha is starting on 28th September and is going to continue till 14th October, so it would be appropriate to keep these things in mind from now on.

Be careful about your eating habits till Pitru Paksha
During these 16 days of Shraddha, people organize puja for their dead ancestors and pray for the peace of their souls. Along with this, food and clothes etc. are donated to Pandits and Brahmins. Meat and chicken etc. are not consumed during Shraddha. There is a need to ensure that there is no hindrance in the rituals of ancestors. Therefore, during Shraddha, it is advisable to cook food without onion and garlic. There is a strong need to keep all these things in mind while eating food, only then Pitru Paksha is successful.
