Pradosh Vrat 2022: Know its significance, worship method, auspicious time and mantra

In Pradosh Vrat, devotees are worshiping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with great devotion. Dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, this day is considered a time of happiness and good fortune. This fast is done on Trayodashi Tithi. According to the Hindu calendar, Pradosh Vrat is observed twice in a month i.e. in Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. Guru Pradosh Vrat is being celebrated on 8th September 2022 in Shukla Paksha.

Pradosh Vrat is also known by the name of its day, as when the day falls on a Monday, it is called Soma Pradosham or Chandra Pradosham. On Tuesday it is called Bhaum Pradosham. Budh Pradosham on the day of Mercury, Guru Pradosh on the day of Jupiter, if it falls on Saturday, then it is known as Shani Pradosham.

Fasting is observed from sunrise to sunset, during which devotees maintain pure and pious thoughts, chant hymnsAnd keep yourself away from any evil act or thought. Some devotees also worship the Nataraja form of Lord Shiva on this day. Pradosha means relating or the first part of the evening. Any person can observe Pradosh Vrat. Devotees observing fast on this holy day of Pradosh should wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting the rituals. Place the idol of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati with Lord Ganesha and Skanda which is called the idol of Shiva family.

After installing the idol in the temple, lamp should be lit, red and white vermilion or flowers, white sweets like barfi or kheer are auspicious. Shiv Chalisa, Pradosh Vrat Katha and Lord Shiva's aarti should be recited. After worshiping at home, one must definitely go to the temple. On the day of Pradosh, devotees should perform Abhishek of Shivling, which is considered extremely auspicious.

Devotees should be anointed with Panchamrit which contains a mixture of milk, curd, sugar, honey and gheePerfume and clothes should also be offered to Lord Shiva. Bel leaves, cannabis, and datura should be offered to Lord Shiva.
After completing all the cars, one can break his fast in the evening after sunset and have sattvik food as per his choice.

Devotees who observe Pradosh Vrat are blessed with peace of mind, good health, prosperity and fulfillment of desires not only for themselves but also for the family. Pradosh Vrat is also observed for spiritual upliftment.
It is considered extremely auspicious for unmarried girls, who observe a fast on the day of Pradosh. Women devotees should offer at least 5 makeup items to Goddess Parvati. It is believed that observing this fast with full devotion gives desired results.
