According to the Panchang, the last Pradosh Tithi of the year to shower the blessings of Lord Shiva will start on December 21, 2022 from 00:45 AM till 10:16 PM. On this day, Pradosh Kaal, which is considered best for worshiping Lord Shankar and Parvati, will be from 05:29 to 08:13 in the evening. Since the day on which this auspicious fast is observed, it is known by the same name, therefore, if it falls on a Wednesday, it will be called Budh Pradosh Vrat. By doing which, with the grace of Lord Shiva, the seeker gets special blessings of intelligence, discretion and progress in career-business.
Worship method of Pradosh Vrat:
In the Sanatan tradition, some rules have been given to perform any fast or worship, only by following which a person's worship or fast becomes successful. To get the full result of the worship of Pradosh Vrat, wake up early in the morning before sunrise and after taking bath and meditation, worship Shiva according to the rules and regulations. After this do your other work while meditating or chanting the mantra of Shiva throughout the day. After this, if possible, take bath once in the evening or wear clean clothes and worship Mahadev and Mother Parvati with full rituals during Pradosh period. To get the auspicious results of the worship of Pradosh Vrat, definitely offer things dear to Mahadev like Belpatra, Shamipatra, Dhatura, Rudraksh, etc. After this tell the story of Pradosh Vrat and after that chant Shiva Mantra with Rudraksh's rosary. Such is the mythological story of Som Pradosh Vrat:
According to the story of Som Pradosh Vrat, there lived a Brahmin in a city. Her husband had passed away. She no longer had any shelter, so she used to go out to beg with her son early in the morning. She used to feed herself and her son by begging. One day the Brahmin was returning home when she found a boy moaning in an injured state. The Brahmin out of pity brought him to her home. That boy was the prince of Vidarbha. Enemy soldiers invaded his kingdom, took his father prisoner and took control of the kingdom, so he was wandering here and there. The prince started living in the Brahmin's house with the Brahmin's son. Then one day a Gandharva girl named Anshumati saw the prince and she fell in love with him. The next day Anshumati brought her parents to meet the prince. He also liked the prince. A few days later, Anshumati's parents were ordered by Lord Shankar in a dream to get the prince and Anshumati married. He did the same.
