All happiness and prosperity is achieved by worshiping Lord Shiva. Every day is auspicious for worshiping Shiva, apart from this, if Lord Shiva is worshiped with a true heart on Monday, then one gets freedom from all troubles and all wishes are fulfilled. Shiva always showers blessings on his devotees. It is believed that in order to please Lord Shiva, one should wake up early in the morning and take a bath and worship Lord Shiva. On this day Gangajal should be offered to Mother Parvati and Nandi along with Lord Shankar. Also, on this day Lord Shiva should be specially offered flowers of sandalwood, Akshat, Bilva Patra, Dhatura or figures. All these things are dear to Lord Shiva. On offering them, Bholenath gets pleased and showers his blessings. Prasad of ghee, sugar and wheat flour should be offered to Lord Shiva on Monday.

After this, aarti should be performed with incense and lamps. After this take prasad along with teachers, elders and family and friends. It is believed that by chanting the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 108 times on Monday, special blessings of Lord Shiva are received. By offering raw cow's milk on Shivling on Monday, Lord Shiva's grace always remains. Apart from this, by chanting other mantras of God, blessings of God are showered.
Take special care of these things in Shiva Puja
Many such things are offered in Shiva Puja which are not offered to any other deity, like Aak, Bilvapatra, Bhang etc. Similarly, in worship of Shiva, some such things are prohibited which are not liked by other gods but not by Shiva. Some of the names in this are as follows. Turmeric is not offered in the worship of Lord Shiva. Turmeric is mainly used in cosmetics. According to the scriptures, Shivling is the symbol of masculinity, that is why turmeric is not offered to Mahadev. Offering Ketaki and Kevda flowers to Shiva in the form of flowers is prohibited. According to the scriptures, Kumkum and Roli are not applied to Lord Shiva. Conch is prohibited in Shiva worship, conch is very dear to Lord Vishnu, but Lord Shiva had killed a demon named Shankhchud, so conch is considered prohibited in worship of Lord Shiva.
