Sita Navami’s devotion takes several forms.
A unique style of worship is present at all holy sites during the Sita Navami festival. Lord Ram and Janaki temples all around the country execute special rites and adoration. All of these temples perform Shringar Darshan, Maha Abhishekam, and Aarti rituals. At several locations, Ramayana lessons are also held, followed by bhajan concerts. Processions carrying idols of their deities are brought out on chariots at various temples and holy places, and worshippers chant 'Jai Siya Ram' and sing devotional songs all the time.
Devotees, mainly married ladies, adore Goddess Sita and Lord Rama on Sita Navami. A tiny puja mandap is put up and decked with bright flowers during this puja. This mandap houses the idols of Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, Lakshmana, King Janak, and Mother Sunayana. The Ram Darbar has been embellished. Goddess Sita is revered as the earth's daughter; hence Mother Earth is also honored on this day. Worshiping both Sita and Lord Rama offers happiness and calms to a married existence. During the worship, various offerings like sesame, akshat, barley, and fruits are created and offered as bhog. After the aarti, a special 'bhog' is cooked and distributed as prasad.
